Planning a fishing adventure should be exciting—not confusing. At Ocean Stinger Charters, we believe every guest deserves to know exactly what to expect before stepping aboard. Whether you're joining us for a nearshore trip, an offshore adventure, or a Gulf Stream excursion, we want you to book with confidence by understanding our refund policy, cancellation terms, and liability waiver.

Fishing in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, offers incredible opportunities to target species like mahi mahi, tuna, king mackerel, wahoo, and sharks. However, because every trip depends on weather, sea conditions, and the natural environment, it's important that all guests understand the policies that help us operate safely and fairly.

Why These Policies Matter

Many people assume fishing charters work like hotels or standard vacation bookings. In reality, every charter reserves a specific date and time exclusively for your group. Once your trip is booked, that time is no longer available to other guests.

Our policies are designed to protect both our customers and our business while ensuring that every trip is conducted with safety as the highest priority.

Liability Waiver

By completing your online reservation, checking the booking agreement box, and signing the electronic waiver provided after booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

Assumption of Risk

Fishing and boating activities involve inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated. These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Changing weather and sea conditions
• Boat transportation and travel-related hazards
• Fishing equipment and tackle injuries
• Encounters with marine wildlife, insects, and animals
• Extreme temperatures and environmental conditions
• Limited access to immediate medical care while offshore
• Injuries caused by accidental slips, falls, or other participants

By participating, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily choose to take part in the charter.

Physical Responsibility

Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of participating in offshore or nearshore fishing activities. By joining the trip, you confirm that you are able to safely participate and understand the physical demands involved.

Voluntary Participation

Participation in any Ocean Stinger Charters trip is entirely voluntary. You acknowledge that no one is requiring you to participate and that you accept all risks associated with recreational fishing activities.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Ocean Stinger Charters, its owners, captains, employees, agents, and representatives from any claims, damages, injuries, property loss, expenses, legal actions, or liabilities arising from participation in any charter activity, including those resulting from ordinary negligence.

This release applies to all participants, as well as their heirs, successors, executors, and legal representatives.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Every reservation reserves a specific charter date exclusively for your party.

All Payments Are Non-Refundable

All deposits and payments made toward your fishing charter are non-refundable.

By booking with Ocean Stinger Charters, you acknowledge and agree that your reservation removes that date from availability for other guests.

Weather Cancellations

Safety always comes first.

Only your Captain determines whether weather or sea conditions are safe for departure. Weather forecasts alone do not determine whether a trip will be canceled.

If Ocean Stinger Charters cancels your trip because of:

• Unsafe weather
• Dangerous sea conditions
• Mechanical issues affecting safe operation

you will receive a trip credit valid for one (1) year from your original trip date, subject to availability.

Customer Cancellations

If you cancel your trip for any reason—including:

• Scheduling conflicts
• Illness
• Travel delays
• Personal emergencies
• Changes in travel plans

all payments made toward your charter will be forfeited and are non-refundable.

No-Show Policy

Guests who fail to arrive at the designated departure location by the scheduled departure time will be considered a no-show.

No-shows forfeit all payments made toward the reservation.

Mechanical Issues

Although rare, unforeseen mechanical problems can occur.

If Ocean Stinger Charters must cancel due to mechanical issues, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule your trip within one year of your original reservation date.

Refund Exceptions

Refunds are not part of our standard business policy.

Any refund request will only be considered under extraordinary circumstances and solely at the discretion of Ocean Stinger Charters.

Approval of one refund does not establish a precedent or create an obligation to approve future refund requests.

Approved Refund Processing

If a refund is approved:

• It will be returned to the original payment method whenever possible.
• Processing typically takes 3–5 business days after issuance.
• Final posting times depend on your financial institution and are outside the control of Ocean Stinger Charters.
